Vandoliers
Formed in the Dallas–Fort Worth area of Texas in the mid‑2010s, Vandoliers have developed a hybrid sound that links country, punk, Tex‑Mex and Americana around straightforward, melodic songwriting. Led by singer‑guitarist Joshua Fleming, the six‑piece band partly stems from the local punk scene and channels that raw energy into a Texas country setting, with a strong role for violin, brass and collective choruses. After a self‑produced debut quickly followed by Ameri‑Kinda in 2016, the group refined its identity on The Native (2017) and then on Forever (2019) on Bloodshot Records, where Vandoliers placed greater emphasis on arrangements and vocal harmonies. The self‑titled Vandoliers (2022) confirms this cross‑over aesthetic between honky‑tonk, alternative rock and border influences, driven by frequently brisk tempos and a taste for chant‑like choruses. Through tours and billings with groups like Old 97’s and Flogging Molly, Vandoliers have secured a lasting place in the North American country‑punk and alt‑country network, moving between independent clubs and specialized festivals.
