Elisabeth Andreassen
Born in Gothenburg in 1958 and active between Sweden and Norway, Elisabeth Andreassen established herself from the late 1970s in a register that mixes country, pop, schlager, Nordic folk and Scandinavian variety. Initially spotted on the Swedish country scene, she sings with Mats Rådberg and then joins Chips in the early 1980s, before pursuing a parallel solo career launched with I'm the Singer, You're the Song in 1980 and then Angel of the Morning in 1981. Elisabeth Andreassen takes a lasting place in the Nordic musical space with Bobbysocks, a duo formed with Hanne Krogh, which won Eurovision in 1985 for Norway with La det swinge. Her career then continues between solo albums, television, musicals and occasional collaborations, notably with Jan Werner Danielsen in the 1990s, as well as with Kikki Danielsson and Lotta Engberg in projects related to country and popular song. Elisabeth Andreassen has also represented Sweden and Norway several times in Eurovision selections and finals, illustrating a career established on both sides of the border. Her discography alternates songs in Swedish, Norwegian and English, with albums such as Elisabeth in 1990, Stemninger in 1992, Kjærlighetsviser in 2001, Short Stories in 2005, Spellemann in 2009 and Kärleken & livet in 2012.
