Robert Vincent

Born in Crosby in Merseyside and based in the Liverpool music scene, Robert Vincent has since the early 2000s developed a writing style that sits between Americana, country, blues and folk, with a distinctly English grounding in both melodies and themes. After several singles and EPs released in the early 2010s, he issued his first album, Life in Easy Steps, in 2013, before following with I’ll Make the Most of My Sins in 2017. His trajectory gained new momentum with In This Town You’re Owned in 2020, an album produced by Ethan Johns, where his songwriting sits in a sober roots vein, interwoven with restrained acoustic and electric arrangements. He operates on British Americana and songwriting scenes, in a register where storytelling, a gravelly voice and a straightforward approach to song occupy a central place. In 2024, he releases Barriers, extending a coherent arc between folk-rock heritage, contemporary country and social observation rooted in the northwest of England.
