Positioned within the French urban pop and R&B scene, Melina crafts songs that focus on romantic relationships — balancing attachment, disillusionment and self-assertion. Her sound blends a soft, melancholic R&B foundation with accessible pop melodies and Afro or Latin rhythms that also reference her Congolese heritage. After several years of experience she released Roses, a debut seven-track project that outlines this musical identity: songs carried by a supple voice, often in an intimate register, and production that alternates between hushed atmospheres, sunnier surges and passages closer to hip-hop. In this concise format Melina moves her songs from sentimental narration toward a form of emancipation, with tracks such as “À la vie à la mort”, “Folle” and “Roses”. Her aesthetic sits at the crossroads of contemporary R&B, francophone pop and influences from Afro scenes, favoring clear choruses, direct vocal lines and a sensitive, uncluttered expression.
