Dion Lunadon

Born in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1976, Dion Lunadon first entered the local rock scene with bands such as Nothing at All!, The Snitches and The Rainy Days, before gaining wider visibility with The D4, a garage‑rock and punk band he helped drive in the early 2000s with 6twenty (2001) and Out of My Head (2005). Later based in New York, Lunadon formed True Lovers in 2009 and joined A Place To Bury Strangers in 2010 as bassist and singer, contributing to the group's noise‑rock and post‑punk direction on Onwards to the Wall (2012), Worship (2012), Transfixiation (2015) and Pinned (2018). At the same time he developed a solo career that blends garage punk, taut power pop, direct melodies and abrasive textures, favouring short formats and high‑energy songs. His discography under his own name includes Dion Lunadon (2017), Beyond Everything (2022), Systems Edge (2023) and the EP Memory Burn (2024), in a vein that links punk’s frontal energy with more concise, melodic songwriting.
