Pirapus

Formed in New Zealand, Pirapus develops melodic and upfront drum and bass, designed for the wide-open spaces of live performances as well as club listening, with a futuristic aesthetic that fuses rave tension, luminous pads and very direct drops. The duo has established itself over the 2020s in a particularly active New Zealand scene, before expanding its reach internationally thanks to a string of singles oriented toward a sound often described as future drum and bass, at the crossroads of the dancefloor, bass music and a more pop sensibility in the harmonies. Pirapus builds its tracks on clear contrasts between atmospheric buildups, reworked vocals and fast rhythms, in a format tailored for festivals without stepping outside the contemporary drum and bass frame. Their path has also been shaped by collaborations with artists of the same generation, including SOTA and Andromedik, as well as by regular appearances on club lineups and electronic events. In 2025, Pirapus appears among the top-ranked drum and bass artists on Beatport, continues a sustained live activity with an international tour and presents F U T U R E, an audiovisual format that extends the visual and sonic universe developed by the duo.
