Kybba
Rooted in the landscapes of Salento in southern Italy, Kybba — born Francesco De Nigris in 1994 — grew up surrounded by Caribbean, Latin American and urban sounds that are prominent in the region. A DJ and producer working between reggae, dancehall and electronic music, he began as a teenager mixing and organizing free parties, notably with the Bulldog Jump Crew, before settling in Amsterdam. From that base he developed a hybrid musical language that led him in 2016, together with Limitless, Tribal Kush and Flava One, to formalize the concept and found Basshall Records, a platform dedicated to a style called “basshall,” a fusion of dancehall, afrobeat, Caribbean influences and bass culture. Kybba has since performed across European and Latin American stages and at events such as the Amsterdam Dance Event and Tomorrowland. In the studio his productions stretch dancehall toward club and pop, through collaborations with Blaiz Fayah, Konshens, Major Lazer, Diplo and Ryan Castro. The album “How You Bad Suh,” released in 2025, condenses these sonic explorations around a clearly affirmed basshall identity.
