Nanne
Born Marianne Elisabeth Nordqvist in Stockholm, Nanne, also known as Nanne Grönvall, has developed since the mid-1980s a career situated between Swedish pop, schlager and musical theatre repertoire. Initially active with Sound of Music, then with Peter’s Pop Squad and most notably with One More Time alongside Peter Grönvall, Nanne established herself on the Swedish popular scene via Melodifestivalen, both as a performer and as a songwriter-composer. With One More Time she won the 1996 edition with “Den vilda”, which was subsequently presented at Eurovision. As a solo artist, Nanne released several songs associated with that circuit, among them “Avundsjuk”, “Evig kärlek”, “Håll om mig”, “Jag måste kyssa dig” and “Carpool Karaoke”. Her discography under the name Nanne notably includes the albums Cirkus Homo Sapiens (1998), Alla mina ansikten (2001), 20 år med Nanne (2005), Alltid på väg (2005), Jag måste kyssa dig (2007), En rastlös själ (2010), My Rock Favourites (2011) and Drama Queen (2014). Alongside her music career, Nanne has also worked on stage, taking roles in productions mounted in Stockholm and Malmö, which extends a direct, theatrical vocal aesthetic rooted in Swedish song.
