The Good The Bad and The Zugly
Formed in Hadeland, Norway, in 2011, The Good The Bad and The Zugly operates in a nervous punk rock register, interwoven with hardcore and a pronounced sense of sarcasm. The band includes Ivar Nikolaisen on vocals, with Eirik Melstrøm and Kim Skaug on guitars, Lars Gulbrandsen on bass and Magno Vannebobe on drums. From the start, The Good The Bad and The Zugly is part of a Norwegian rock scene marked by urgency, abrasive riffs and a taste for acidic lyrics. Their discography was built with Fysisk Format, including Anti World Music in 2013, Hadeland Hardcore in 2015, Misanthropical House in 2018, Algorithm & Blues in 2019, Research and Destroy in 2022 and Decade of Regression in 2024. A compilation album, The Worst Four Years, was released in 2017. The band's journey intersects with other Norwegian punk and rock groups, while Ivar Nikolaisen pursues other projects in parallel, notably within Silver and later with Kvelertak. On stage as in the studio, The Good The Bad and The Zugly develops direct, fast and rugged music, where catchy melodies, punk tension and social irony move forward without hesitation.
