Sofia Camara

Born on the island of Terceira in the Azores and raised in Toronto, Sofia Camara began writing her first songs at 13, laying the groundwork for melodic pop driven by introspective ballads. Before her first official recordings, she gained attention performing covers in the Toronto subway and posting videos on social media, where her renditions of mainstream songs attracted an initial audience. In 2022, the Portuguese‑Canadian musician signed with Universal Music Canada and 21 Entertainment and launched her career with the single “Never Be Yours,” which established her contemporary pop palette centered on voice and lyrics. Sofia Camara’s world—between intimate songwriting and catchy choruses—became clearer with “Who Do I Call Now? (Hellbent)” and a series of singles that led to her debut EP, Was I(t) Worth It?, released in 2025 and entirely co‑written by the artist with collaborators including Lowell, Nathan Ferraro and Mike Wise. That same year she collaborated with Dean Lewis on “With You” and followed with a second EP, Hard to Love, featuring her recurring producers and confirming an aesthetic focused on vulnerability, breakups and self‑assertion. On stage, Sofia Camara has toured with Scott Helman, Virginia to Vegas, Shawn Desman, Alex Warren, Dean Lewis, Stevie Nicks and Bastille, performed at Osheaga and Lollapalooza, and headlined her own Healing Hearts Tour across Europe and North America, while earning nominations at the International Portuguese Music Awards and later at the Juno Awards in an emerging category.
