Paul Seul

Born in Paris in 1986 as Paul Orzoni, Paul Seul began DJing in his teens and later developed a production practice centered on fast, hard-edged electronic music. In the early 2010s, a stay in Amsterdam drew him closer to Dutch gabber and hardcore—particularly the Thunderdome scene—which left a lasting mark on his approach. Back in Paris, Paul Seul co-founded the collective and label Casual Gabberz in 2013 with Aprile, Von Bikrav, Evil Grimace and Claude Murder, a project that remained active for ten years through releases, parties and the dissemination of these aesthetics within French club culture. As a solo artist he released the EPs Entretenir surveiller sécuriser (2018), Music In The Background (2020) and Amoureuse (2021). His music retains a gabber and hardcore foundation while opening up more to vocals and pop-adjacent forms. Since 2019 he has also formed the duo Ascendant Vierge with Mathilde Fernandez, combining French-language singing, trance pulses, gabber energy and darker tonalities. Under his birth name, Paul Orzoni, he has also produced and contributed to tracks for Biffty and Hyacinthe.
