Marillion play Eventim Apollo, London, on 2 October 2026. Formed in the late 1970s in Aylesbury, the band helped reboot British progressive rock by pairing the 70s legacy with a more direct songwriting streak. The early 80s era with singer Fish delivered narrative-driven, melodic long-form pieces and albums like Script for a Jester’s Tear, Fugazi and Misplaced Childhood. A new chapter opened at the end of the decade with Steve Hogarth on vocals, more introspective in tone on Seasons End and Brave, where progressive structures met atmospheric pop and contemporary textures. The stable core of Steve Rothery, Mark Kelly, Pete Trewavas, Ian Mosley and Hogarth has since honed a collective sound both in studio and on stage.
Pioneers of fan-powered models since the late 90s, Marillion built a tight international community and pushed forward with records such as Marbles, F E A R and An Hour Before It’s Dark. On stage, the band favours long forms, thematic cycles and slow-burn dynamics that span their different eras.
