Bernard Lavilliers

Bernard Lavilliers returns to the stage with his wide‑ranging songs. Chanson, rock, Brazilian rhythms, Caribbean echoes and touches of jazz have blended in his work since the 1970s, nourished by long voyages, port tales and a social outlook that informs his lyrics. With a deep voice and images of cities, wandering and the sea, he weaves a repertoire in which rhythmic energy serves the storytelling, amid guitars, brass and orchestrated arrangements.

Albums such as O gringo, État d’urgence, Carnets de bord and, more recently, Clair‑obscur have punctuated his career and continue to feed his concerts, balancing the classicism of French chanson with openings toward world music. On stage, Lavilliers sets a direct, no‑frills atmosphere, supported by a band experienced in cross‑cultural fusions.
