Info
DakhaBrakha returns to Paris on May 3, 2026, at the Trianon Paris to present Ptakh, their new album. Born out of the Dakh experimental theater in Kyiv, the quartet embodies a free and independent Ukrainian scene. Their signature, “ethno‑chaos,” blends traditional songs collected in the field, percussion, strings and otherworldly timbres, together with a sense of stagecraft inherited from the theater for concerts where imagery converses with sound.
Ptakh (bird) explores themes of resistance, strength and solidarity. The title works as a symbol of freedom and of a shared voice. On the program are tracks such as Sho z‑pod duba, Vesna and Ptakh, whose lyrics are by the writer Serhiy Zhadan. A standout moment, Plyve Choven pays tribute to Ukraine’s defenders and to those who will not return.
From Glastonbury to Roskilde, via Sziget and Bonnaroo, DakhaBrakha has shaped a stage presence where polyphonies and contemporary pulses intersect. Since the start of the large‑scale invasion, the group has carried a clear message on stage: to give thanks, to ask for what is needed to endure, to share the pain, and to show a culture that is very much alive. At the Trianon Paris, the performance is accompanied by videos by Ukrainian artists, creating a soundscape of today’s Ukraine, between memory, energy and solidarity.
