MARO

MARO is a musician, singer-songwriter and producer from Lisbon. Trained at the Berklee College of Music, she began her career in 2018 and has released five albums and an EP before joining Jacob Collier on his worldwide DJESSE tour. She has also opened for Jessie J, the Gipsy Kings, Charlotte Cardin and The Paper Kites. She will be in Paris at Salle Pleyel on 12 March 2026.

In 2020 she launched ITSAME, MARO!, a series of 100 collaborations with artists from diverse backgrounds, including Eric Clapton, Pablo Alborán, Lizzy McAlpine, Ivan Lins, Vitor Kley, ANAVITÓRIA, Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Maria Gadú, Mayra Andrade, Rui Veloso and Lennon Stella.

A winner of Festival da Canção, she represented Portugal at Eurovision 2022 with “saudade, saudade,” which finished in the top 10. She then released can you see me?, blending pop, trap, world music and folk.

In 2023 she released hortelã, an acoustic trio album with Catalan guitarists Darío Barroso and Pau Figueres, mostly sung in Portuguese; the record was honored with the José Afonso Prize.

After the EP PIRILAMPO, MARO and NASAYA released LIFELINE in 2024, a project leaning more toward electronic music. Since then she has alternated between acoustic trio and electronic duo performances, shared bills with Jacob Collier, Odesza and Parcels, and opened for Shawn Mendes. She has announced her new album SO MUCH HAS CHANGED.
