Ten years after Cloak, Jordan Rakei returns to the stage in 2027 with A Safe Place To Be Wild, an album that puts him back at the center of what he does best: writing, playing, producing, without boundaries. Born in New Zealand, raised in Australia and based in London, the multi-instrumentalist has carved out a singular place between contemporary soul, jazz, alternative R&B, and electronic textures, with a supple groove sense and harmonies that grab you at once.
Conceived in a more instinctive impulse, the album traverses funk, pop, cinematic orchestrations and more electronic beats, without losing the thread of a very vocal writing. The lyrics reach toward fatherhood, family, doubts and hope, with blunt sincerity. On stage, it promises a precise and lively set, tailored to let the new tracks breathe as well as the essentials.
Jordan Rakei will perform at the Bataclan in Paris on 10 April 2027.
