On February 20, 2027, Dropkick Murphys bring their Boston-made mix of street punk and Irish folk to the Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg. Built around Ken Casey’s gravelly, rally-the-room presence, the band has spent decades turning shouted choruses and traditional melodies into tight, fast, communal songs. Expect classics from the early run that shaped their sound, plus later material that leans into American folk roots without losing that plugged-in punch. Their live shows are all about momentum: sing-along hooks, acoustic textures cutting through the distortion, and that working-class storytelling they’ve carried since the late 90s.
Opening the night, San Francisco’s Spiritual Cramp set the tone with a direct, no-frills punk attack shot through with post-punk tension and 90s alt grit. Fronted by Michael Bingham, they hit hard and keep it concise, with sharp, punchy songwriting introduced on early EPs and fully locked in on their 2023 self-titled debut. A solid one-two: modern DIY urgency leading into a veteran band that still plays like the room’s on their side.
