From Vancouver, The Real McKenzies have been charting their course since 1992 with a Celtic punk that refuses to choose between punk rock’s electric energy and the memory of traditional tunes. Led by Paul McKenzie, the sole permanent member of a lineup that changes shape, the project preserves an immediate signature: fast guitars, choruses built for sing-alongs, and that bagpipe that tilts the concert toward pub songs and sea stories.
On August 24, 2026, The Real McKenzies are set to perform at Le Ferrailleur in Nantes to bring back this blend of original compositions and adaptations of Scottish and Canadian repertoire. From Clash of the Tartans to Songs of the Highlands, Songs of the Sea, their discography features tracks tailor-made for the stage—between raw energy and reimagined tradition, with a sense of collective spirit that quickly transforms the room into a giant chorus.
