Haken

London-based progressive rock/metal band Haken brings its intricate songwriting to Vega in Copenhagen on 15 October 2026. Formed in 2007 around Richard Henshall and Ross Jennings, the group shaped a sound where long-form structures, shifting time signatures and melodic vocal lines meet prominent keyboards and tight, heavy riffing.

After early demos, Haken set their course with Aquarius (2010) and Visions (2011), pushing a narrative, technical approach that carried through The Mountain (2013), where complex rhythms met more direct hooks and atmospheric passages. The band kept experimenting across Affinity (2016), the sharp, compact Vector (2018), its companion Virus (2020), and Fauna (2023), each record adding new textures without losing their progressive backbone.

On stage, Haken moves fluidly between dense, syncopated grooves and spacious breaks, layering multi-part vocals and synth lines over a precise rhythm section. With the return of keyboardist Peter Jones in 2022, the current lineup leans into rich arrangements that highlight the band’s interplay and sense of dynamics. This date at Vega frames their catalog in a live format built for both detail and momentum.
