Gaël Faye returns to the stage with a live performance that blends rap, song and poetry. A rapper and a writer, he crafts his lyrics like confidences, shaped by heritage, exile and memory. First brought to prominence by his debut novel Petit pays (Prix Goncourt des lycéens) and by the album Lundi méchant, certified platinum, he moves at the crossroads of genres. His latest novel, Jacaranda (Prix Renaudot 2024), also feeds a more narrative musical writing, attentive to detail and to the voices around him.
On November 12, 2027 at the Zénith de Saint-Étienne, he will present a set conceived as a story in motion: a measured flow, at times close to spoken word, arrangements in which acoustic instruments and a hip‑hop aesthetic answer one another, and choruses that settle in effortlessly. Between signature hits and new material, the personal rubs up against celebration and stories unfold in tempo, in a format tailor-made for the stage.
