Info
El Mató a un Policía Motorizado returns to London on 5 August 2026 at Electric Ballroom, Camden. Formed in La Plata, Argentina, the band has shaped a singular blend of indie rock and noise pop over more than two decades, with direct melodies, fuzzed guitars and lyrics that balance the everyday with a wistful edge. Their songs have quietly travelled far, resonating with a new wave of Spanish-language artists, from Amaia to Los Planetas and Carolina Durante.
From the early trilogy Navidad de Reserva (2005), Un millón de euros (2006) and Día de los Muertos (2008) to the fuller, synth-tinged turn of La Síntesis O’Konor (2017), El Mató has kept expanding its palette without losing its core pulse. La Otra Dimensión (2019) gathered alternate takes and companion pieces, while Unas Vacaciones Raras (2021), the Okupas soundtrack, anchored their storytelling to images on screen. Recent chapters push a more post-punk, krautrock-aware undercurrent, culminating in a Latin Grammy Award in 2022 for Best Rock Album and the darker hues of Súper terror (2023). On stage, that arc becomes a tight, unshowy drive: steady rhythms, chiming hooks and a slow-burn lift that turns choruses into collective mantras.
