Info

Giant Rooks brings its indie rock and indie pop blend to Théâtre Beanfield in Montréal on November 11, 2026. Formed in Hamm, Germany in the mid-2010s, the band writes in English and builds its songs around Frederik Rabe’s voice and Finn Schwieters’s guitars, shifting between tight rhythms and moments that open into more atmospheric textures. From early EPs The Times Are Bursting the Lines and New Estate to Wild Stare, they have shaped a taste for clear melodies and detailed arrangements.

Their debut album Rookery pushed the sound toward something broader and more modern, where indie rock leans into pop structures touched by electronics and hints of art pop, without losing the song-first approach. The follow-up How Have You Been? refines that balance, alternating direct, energetic passages with more introspective moods. On stage, the quintet tends to stretch the dynamics, letting drums, guitars and synths trade space while keeping vocals upfront. Expect a set that moves from punchier tracks to slower, textured pieces, carried by the interplay of the band and choruses that land without overstating the effect.
