The Fratellis « Celebrating 20 Years of Costello Music »

The Fratellis celebrate twenty years of Costello Music with a date at O2 Academy Leeds on 25 February 2027. Formed in Glasgow in 2005, Jon, Baz and Mince Fratelli have built their sound on brisk indie rock fed by garage grit, power-pop hooks and a tight rhythmic pulse. Their debut album Costello Music (2006) pinned down singable choruses and sharp guitar lines, sending tracks like Chelsea Dagger and Whistle for the Choir into regular rotation. Two decades on, the band revisit that first rush, tapping into the album’s highlights and deep cuts while connecting it to everything they’ve written since.

After an intense early run and a pause in 2009, The Fratellis returned in 2012 and broadened the palette with We Need Medicine (2013), Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied (2015), In Your Own Sweet Time (2018) and Half Drunk Under a Full Moon (2021), adding touches of soul and orchestral colour without losing their knack for melody. On stage, that journey condenses into a direct, driving set where riffs and choruses lead the way. This anniversary show looks back to the spark that started it all and keeps the rest of their catalogue within reach.
