Info
On 28 May 2026 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, P40 – Celebrating 40 Years marks four decades of Pixies. Formed in Boston in 1986 by Black Francis, Joey Santiago, Kim Deal and David Lovering, the band fused immediate melodies with abrasive ruptures, shaping a quiet-loud language that defined Surfer Rosa and Doolittle. Where Is My Mind?, Debaser and Monkey Gone to Heaven folded surreal imagery into sharp, economical songwriting, and their approach resonated with Nirvana, Radiohead and Weezer.
Since reforming in 2004, Pixies have continued to release new work and tour, with a line-up anchored by Francis, Santiago and Lovering. This anniversary show looks across their catalogue, from the first EPs to recent albums, stitching together pop hooks, jagged riffs and off‑kilter narratives. The focus stays on the contrasts that built their sound: whisper to burst, sweetness to scrape, tension to release. Four decades on, the band revisits songs that helped redefine the vocabulary of indie rock.
