On December 16, 2026, at the Colisée Lens in Lens, Hiba Tawaji invites Ibrahim Maalouf to a stage-voice dialogue in which the Beirut-born soprano and the trumpet answer one another. Trained between conservatory and stage and first noticed with Oussama Rahbani, then in France through The Voice and Notre-Dame de Paris, Hiba moves between Arabic repertoire and Francophone song. With a clear timbre, controlled melismas, pop ballads and more lyrical inflections, she connects Levantine traditions to contemporary songwriting, supported by careful arrangements.
Alongside her, Ibrahim Maalouf, a Franco-Lebanese trumpeter whose playing is shaped by maqams and jazz, deploys his quarter-tone trumpet and a sharp sense of counter-melody. Accustomed to onstage collaborations, he lays down flexible lines, opens up improvised passages and composes melodic bridges that follow Hiba’s phrasing. Together they assemble a set that mixes songs in Arabic and French, instrumental themes and orchestrated atmospheres, where the voice rests on modern textures and the trumpet highlights the harmonic contours. An evening conceived as a musical conversation—precise and vivid.
