David Castello-Lopes « Délicieux »

I almost called this show "Pleasure." Then I thought that the only pleasures people would think of with such a title would be the ones forbidden to under‑18s. Yet, for financial reasons, I want under‑18s to be able to attend my show. So I called it "Delicious": it’s a family show, presented at the Cité des congrès on 18 October 2026 at 4:00 p.m.

In an hour and fifteen minutes I will try to unravel the complexity of what produces pleasure in human beings. Of course pleasure can come from a glass of Chasselas savored on the lakeshore in spring. But it can also be triggered by the death of someone you don’t like. An unexpected promotion at work certainly brings joy. But so does eating Gruyère in Gruyères, or knowing — if you’re French — that the “z” in Étivaz is not pronounced (which allows us to delightfully correct anyone who gets it wrong). My aim is for this show to evoke a certain pleasure in you, in a delicious mise‑en‑abyme as satisfying as eating Gruyère in Gruyères.
