Love Shop

Formed in late-80s Copenhagen, Love Shop sits at the crossroads of melodic pop, guitar-driven rock and a hint of new wave, writing in Danish with an eye for city life, relationships and a touch of melancholy. At Vega in Copenhagen on 2 September 2026, the group led by singer and writer Jens Unmack draws on a catalogue that took them from club stages to Danish festivals. The original core—Unmack with guitarist-producer Hilmer Hassig and harmonica player Henrik Hall—shaped early albums like 1990, DK, Billeder af verden, Det eneste der duer, Go! and the self-titled 1998 record, defining a balance between tuneful songwriting and more electric edges. After Anti and National, the project paused and later re-emerged around Unmack following the passing of Hassig (2008) and Hall (2011), continuing with Frelsens hær and Skandinavisk lyst. On stage today, Love Shop threads guitars, pop melodies and direct, plain-spoken lyrics into concise songs, carrying the band’s Copenhagen roots into the present.
