Bernard Lavilliers

Bernard Lavilliers takes the stage at the Halle Tony Garnier in Lyon on March 17, 2027. Since the 1970s he has carved out a singular path where French chanson meets rock, Latin American influences, reggae, Brazilian rhythms, Caribbean sounds and touches of jazz. A former worker who took to the road, he nourishes his lyrics with dockside tales, wanderings and social realities, showing a taste for urban and maritime atmospheres. His repertoire, shaped over albums such as O gringo, État d’urgence, Carnets de bord and, more recently, Clair-obscur, mixes narrative songwriting and rhythmic openings, supported by often-orchestrated arrangements and collaborations from diverse horizons.

On stage, Lavilliers unfolds this musical cartography with attention to stories, grooves and the colours of the world. Between chronicles of reality and travel-driven pulses, he pieces together songs that span decades without losing the thread of his favourite themes. A concert conceived to navigate between energy, contemplation and the movements of the open sea, it strikes a balance that lets poetry, rhythm and a contemporary outlook converse.
