Big Sugar brings the 30th Anniversary Hemi-Vision Tour to Club Regent Event Centre in Winnipeg on January 31, 2026. Led by guitarist and singer Gordie Johnson, the Toronto band has long fused weighty blues rock with reggae grooves, dub textures and a psych streak, a mix that shaped Canadian stages through the 1990s and beyond. Hemi-Vision, released in 1996, sits at the core of that sound, built on thick riffs, low-end drive and offbeat swing.
This date is a two-set performance. First, Hemi-Vision played live in full, front to back. Then a second set pulls from the wider Big Sugar catalogue, from the early club days through Five Hundred Pounds, Heated and Brothers and Sisters, Are You Ready?, to later turns toward stripped-down, reggae-leaning arrangements. The night traces the band’s blend of rock grit and Caribbean inflection, with Johnson’s guitar tone and vocals anchoring the groove while the rhythm section keeps the pressure steady.
