On July 11, 2026, the Théâtre Antique de Vienne in Vienne slips into groove mode for an evening of the Jazz à Vienne 2026 festival that brings together a congenial family of musicians. Headlining, Vulfpeck, the American funk band formed in 2011, unfolds its art of effective minimalism: a dry groove, crisp bass lines, tightly disciplined drums, vintage keyboards and melodies that snap without effort. Beside them, The Fearless Flyers push things toward an ultra-tight instrumental format—cutting riffs, precise meter and direct, in-your-face energy, all crafted for live performance.
On the French side of the bill, Ludivine Issambourg puts the flute front and center, moving between jazz, broken beat and electronic impulses, with a melodic flow that threads through the rhythms. The duo Souleance mixes soul, funk and French hip‑hop beats—sample‑based collages, rounded bass and warm breaks. Opening or providing a counterpoint, ubaq, a jazz trio, lays down delicate textures and collective improvisation that converse with the rest of the lineup.
