Daran

Daran will be at Forum Vauréal on April 9, 2026. Active since the 1990s—first with Daran et les Chaises and later as a solo artist—he has released ten studio albums and one live album, notably marked by Huit barré (1995) and the song “Dormir dehors.” That album was reissued as a double vinyl for its 30th anniversary. In 2025 he opened a new chapter with his 11th album, Grand Hôtel Apocalypse, in which he returns to a direct, stripped-down rock: bass, guitar, drums, no effect pedals, instruments plugged straight into the amps. Eleven songs about freedom, lost loves, the search for oneself, with a clear focus on the human. The record was written, produced and recorded between Montreal, Brittany, Mexico and California.

On stage, Daran takes the stage as a power trio with Roman Gaume on guitar and Romain Viallon (formerly of Luke) on drums. The compact lineup gives pride of place to the new tracks while revisiting the standout pieces from his repertoire. A career enriched by collaborations with Miossec, Yarol Poupaud, Johnny Hallyday, Francis Cabrel, Maurane and Jane Birkin, which continues to inform his way of writing and performing.
