Les Wampas will return to Paris on Saturday, January 23, 2027, on the Trianon stage, accompanied by their new album Où va nous ?. It is reassuring to have a new Wampas album, even comforting like the scent of a madeleine.
Exactly forty years after their first album Tutti Frutti, the band led by Didier releases a fifteenth chapter in its history. Its name: Où va nous ?. A mix of electric fury and uncontained energy, there remains a style that belongs only to Didier, a brash, front-and-center voice, because it leads the proceedings with authority. That is the band's signature. But behind it, there are musicians who have found the balance between experience and freshness to support him.
The lyrics evoke the past without being particularly nostalgic, but remind us that the band is part of a history, the one started with the Twist and sustained by the 1977 wave and then by alternative rock. This is the band's peculiarity: bringing together several generations of fans of binary rhythms, each listener will hear the influences they cherish.
