Info

Calexico stops at the Cabaret Sauvage in Paris on April 22, 2026. Born in Tucson, the band fronted by Joey Burns and John Convertino has for years shaped a borderland sound that sits between folk-rock and Latin music. Dusty guitars, trumpets, dry percussion and pedal steel blend with subtle arrangements, on English-language songs that regularly feature flashes of Spanish. You’ll hear rhythms borrowed from cumbia and mariachi, ballads that take their time and livelier excursions, always driven by a precise rhythm section with brass to the fore.

On stage, Calexico summons several eras of its back catalogue, from the atmospheres of The Black Light and Feast of Wire to the landscapes of Algiers and Edge of the Sun. The material is expansive, the playing supple, and each piece opens a new window onto the Arizona desert as well as on the towns along the border. A concert to rediscover that singular blend of Americana and Latin colours, by a band that knows how to build moods and let the energy flow without force.
