Big Country mark 40 years of The Seer with a live set built around the band’s third album, the one that locked in their widescreen, Scotland-coded guitar sound. Expect those big, taut riffs that nod to bagpipe phrasing, with the emotional lift and drive that made the record stand out in the mid-80s. On Saturday, 19 December 2026 at The Garage in Glasgow, the show puts The Seer’s key moments back in the spotlight, from the punchier cuts to the more sweeping, slow-burning passages.
Fronted by co-founder and longest-running member Bruce Watson, the current lineup keeps the post-punk/new wave edge while leaning into the melodic, anthemic side that’s always been Big Country’s calling card. The set also opens up beyond the anniversary album, pulling in essential classics like In A Big Country and Fields Of Fire, so it plays less like a museum piece and more like a proper night out with a band that still knows how to hit that big-room stride.
Evan Peters Presents The Alarm join as special guests, bringing their own catalog of straight-ahead, heart-on-sleeve rock to frame the night as a shared celebration of enduring songs and long friendships.
