Built on tight vocal harmonies, punchy basslines and pop-soul hooks, their catalog has always balanced dancefloor energy with melodies that stick. From the move to Epic in the mid-70s to the self-driven run of Destiny and Triumph, the brothers shaped a sound that bridged Motown polish and late-70s funk, made to be sung loud and moved to.
Sister Sledge open the night with that unmistakable Philadelphia blend of soul, disco and clean-cut pop.
