Info

Swiss singer-songwriter Stephan Eicher has moved since the 1980s between chanson, pop rock and folk. After a stint with Grauzone during a minimalist, electronic phase, he established himself as a solo artist with Les Chansons bleues and I Tell This Night, performing in French, German and English. With Engelberg and Carcassonne his songwriting became more defined, often in tandem with the writer Philippe Djian, whose texts he sets to music. From Taxi Europa to Eldorado, L’Envolée and Homeless Songs, his pieces range from acoustic ballads to broader arrangements, with occasional electronic touches.

In Amiens, on 21 November 2026 at the Cirque Jules Verne - Pôle National Cirque Amiens, he brings these different facets together on stage. Intimate songs, more pop-leaning choruses, instrumental interludes and shifts of language — French, German, English, Swiss German — shape a fluid set, carried by a guitar that holds the line. Surrounded by musicians drawn from the European rock and jazz scenes, Eicher draws on a wide repertoire, sometimes reworking his pieces, and brings out what matters here: melody and lyrics. A concert conceived to span the years with a precise sound and forthright lyrics.
