Info

Glen Hansard returns to the stage and stops at L'Olympia in Paris on 30 April 2026. The Irish singer and guitarist is launching a European tour built around a new project that will be unveiled soon.

First noticed in 1990 with The Frames, he established a folk-rock sound that is at once expansive and tightly focused. Fitzcarraldo (1996) and Burn the Maps (2004) anchored the band in Ireland, while tours took them from Lollapalooza to the Hollywood Bowl and even to opening for Bob Dylan in 2007. In 2006, Hansard crossed into film with Once alongside Markéta Irglová; the song "Falling Slowly" won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2008, and the story was adapted into Once The Musical, first Off-Broadway and then on Broadway, where the show won eight Tony Awards.

As a solo artist, he followed with Rhythm and Repose (2012), the Jason Molina tribute EP It Was Triumph We Once Proposed (2015), the Grammy-nominated Didn’t He Ramble, and This Wild Willing (2019). On stage, from Carnegie Hall to the Royal Albert Hall and the Sydney Opera House, he has also collaborated widely—from Robbie Robertson to Eddie Vedder—and has taken part in New York evenings dedicated to Van Morrison and Patti Smith. At L'Olympia he will draw on this whole trajectory, mixing Frames songs, pieces from Once and solo material, with possibly a preview of his next project.
