Info
Originally from New York, Slow Fiction is an indie rock quintet born of friendships and creative connections forged at university, before forming amid the upheavals of the pandemic. The band develops a sound that oscillates between the raw energy of 1990s rock, notably inspired by Sonic Youth and The Jesus and Mary Chain, and contemporary melancholy, carried by introspective lyrics and a strong emotional intensity.
The five members choose to live together, turning their shared daily life into a creative playground. This proximity nourishes their music and gives rise to their first EP, Crush, released in 2024, before their self-produced debut album, dollhouse. Across its 11 tracks, the group explores identity, the gaze of others, and how we build ourselves when we are constantly watched, with rock that is at once nerve-wracking, melodic, and cathartic.
After a stint at Rock en Seine in 2025, Slow Fiction is back for a concert at La Boule Noire on February 16, 2027.
