Info
On November 6, 2026, at the Salle Guy Obino in Vitrolles, the evening is presented under the banner of Nordic jazz, with two ways to open the space and push the boundaries.
First, Rymden, a trio formed by Bugge Wesseltoft on piano, Dan Berglund on electric bass, and Magnus Öström on drums. Three prominent figures in Scandinavian jazz, balancing the EST heritage with Wesseltoft's taste for electronic textures. Their music plays on contrasts: melodic themes that drift outward, rock-inspired pulses and sharp accelerations, more aerial passages where improvisation flows without rushing. A jazz of writing and momentum, highly collective, that tells as much as it grooves.
Then Nils Petter Molvær, the Norwegian trumpeter who has mastered the art of blending jazz improvisation with ambient textures and rhythms inspired by electronic music. On stage, his trumpet can be clear or saturated, always central, carried by loops, atmospheres, and an energy that flirts with club culture without leaving the realm of jazz.
