Teenage Fanclub

Teenage Fanclub return to Glasgow for a show at Saint Luke’s & The Winged Ox on 13 November 2026. Formed in Bellshill in 1989, the group shaped a sound that folds fuzzy guitars into clean pop melodies and close harmonies. Built around Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley, and long defined by a shared-voice, shared-writing approach, they moved from the rough edges of A Catholic Education (1990) to the more structured Bandwagonesque (1991), then refined a balance of power pop, jangle and alternative rock across Thirteen (1993), Grand Prix (1995) and Songs from Northern Britain (1997).

Mid-tempo songs, unshowy refrains and interlaced guitars remain their anchor, a line that links 70s American pop to British indie. Since Gerard Love’s departure in 2018, the band has carried on with Endless Arcade (2021) and Nothing Lasts Forever (2023), keeping that melodic clarity and restraint in their playing. Live, the band usually spans its catalogue, blending early corners with recent material, with the same understated craft that has run through their records.
