Ride returns to the stage on 19 February 2027 at the Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow, with that sound that marked the shift between the late 80s and the early 90s. Formed in Oxford in 1988 around Mark Gardener, Andy Bell, Steve Queralt and Loz Colbert, the band quickly found its balance: two guitars trading riffs, duet vocals, and that way of marrying crisp melodies with saturated textures.
Over the course of their records, Ride forged an identity between shoegaze, dream pop and alternative rock, established with Nowhere and then broadened on Going Blank Again, before moving toward more direct songwriting in the mid-90s. Reformed in 2014, the band has relaunched the studio with Weather Diaries, This Is Not a Safe Place and Interplay, without losing what makes their live performances powerful: a constant tension, dense yet airy tracks, and a rhythm section that lets noise breathe as much as the pop.
