The Proclaimers

The Proclaimers bring their close‑harmony folk rock to Symphony Hall, Birmingham, on 7 November 2026. Formed in Scotland in 1983 by twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid, the duo built their sound from stripped‑back acoustic beginnings to a fuller band dynamic. Their hallmark is a direct, melodic writing style, tight two‑part vocals and a distinctly Scottish delivery that threads through folk rock, roots, country folk and a punch of punk energy.

On stage, the pair move between intimate acoustic moments and a driving group sound, letting the voices lead while the guitars and rhythm section push the songs forward. The set draws on early releases This Is the Story and Sunshine on Leith with Letter from America, I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) and Sunshine on Leith, and reaches into later albums including Life with You, Notes & Rhymes, Like Comedy, Angry Cyclist and Dentures Out. Expect a line‑up of songs that mixes personal storytelling with social and political angles, crafted for clear melodies and choruses built to be sung back.
