Del Amitri bring Past to Present – Four Decades of Their Greatest Music to York Barbican in York on 16 November 2026. Formed in Glasgow around singer-bassist and songwriter Justin Currie, the band has spent years shaping a sound where clear, chiming guitars and direct melodies meet lyrics with a wry, often melancholic tint. Alongside guitarist Iain Harvie and longtime keyboard player Andy Alston, they move easily between pop rock hooks, alternative bite, jangle textures and a touch of folk.

This show retraces their catalogue from early days to recent material, drawing a line from the lean songcraft of Waking Hours and Change Everything through the punch of Twisted and Some Other Sucker’s Parade to their 2021 return, Fatal Mistakes. Songs like Nothing Ever Happens, Kiss This Thing Goodbye, Always the Last to Know and Roll to Me share space with deeper cuts, highlighting the balance the band keeps between immediacy and understatement.
