Thomas Fersen

On 15 November 2026 at the Saline Royale d’Arc‑et‑Senans, Thomas Fersen presents Comme on quitte un imperméable, a show adapted from his novel to be published by Seuil in May 2026. Accompanied by three musicians, he blends unreleased songs with numbers from his repertoire to unfold, in octosyllabic lines, the trajectory of a young man sent to Mexico by his father after discouraging early musical beginnings and the loss of a part‑time job as a cable installer. Fersen lends this narrator memories of youth and transports the audience through images of exoticism, luxuriance, devotion and religiosity, like an allegory of the rites of passage into adulthood. Between theatre, storytelling and concert, he assembles road fables, intimate chronicles and familiar refrains in a hybrid form that extends his taste for language and narrative. A Fersen on stage, in voice and in stories, with a trio of musicians, revisiting his songs and opening up new avenues.
