Nile Rodgers & Chic roll out disco-funk with that unmistakable, dry-percussive guitar playing and a rhythm section that captures every nuance. In their repertoire: classics like “Le Freak,” “Good Times,” and “I Want Your Love,” driven by multi-part hooks and tight arrangements. Rodgers, co‑founder of Chic and an influential producer from Bowie to Daft Punk, constructs his set as a seamless sequence of riffs, call‑and‑response and irresistible dancefloor timing.
Mother’s Finest build the bridge between funk and rock. The duo around Joyce “Baby Jean” Kennedy and Glenn Murdock offsets hard guitars with syncopated bass and vocal lines drawn from soul and gospel.
