Info
On October 26, 2026, at Place Bell in Laval, Styx will present its Chicago-rooted fusion of progressive rock, hard rock and pop sensibility. Formed in the early 1970s, the band established a sound built on layered vocal harmonies, melodic keyboards and twin-guitar power, moving from more prog-oriented beginnings toward a sharper, arena-ready style. Their catalogue spans early efforts through the late‑1970s sequence of The Grand Illusion, Pieces of Eight and Cornerstone, then on to concept albums such as Paradise Theatre and Kilroy Was Here, with later studio returns like The Mission and Crash of the Crown. Live, Styx navigates material from across their career, balancing high‑energy rockers and ballads with tight arrangements and a strong collective groove.
Sass Jordan opens the evening with a raw, blues‑rock edge honed in Montreal after formative years in the UK. Renowned for a gritty, soulful voice over guitar-driven arrangements, she first drew attention with Tell Somebody, shifted toward radio-focused rock on Racine and Rats, and more recently embraced roots and blues on Rebel Moon Blues and Bitches Blues. Onstage she combines hard-rock intensity with classic rhythm-and-blues hues, keeping her set rooted in live immediacy and songwriting punch.
