Skullcrusher

Skullcrusher, also known as Helen Ballentine, returns to Paris on 12 June 2026 at the Supersonic in the 12th arrondissement. An American singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles and originally from New York State, she crafts an intimate folk threaded with ambient and light electronics, where acoustic guitar, hushed vocals and delicate textures shape songs with subtle contours. Coming from the visual arts, she cultivates a sense of detail and space that permeates her arrangements and gives them a very physical presence.

After the EPs Skullcrusher (2020) and Storm in Summer (2021), her debut album Quiet the Room (2022) opened up a narrative terrain made of memories and stretched time. With And Your Song is Like a Circle, she continues this inquiry and explores how grief folds back on itself, leaving impressions rather than frozen scenes. Between gossamer folk and crystalline electronics, her pieces advance in touches, between silences and resonances. On stage at the Supersonic, Skullcrusher favors a pared-down lineup and an intimate rapport with the audience, where every breath and every note finds its place.
