Oakland’s Hieroglyphics bring the 360 Tour to Toronto, a rare chance to catch the full collective on one stage: Del the Funky Homosapien, Souls of Mischief, Casual, Pep Love, producer Domino and DJ Toure. Since the early 90s, the crew has charted its own lane on the West Coast, leaning on boom-bap drums, jazz and soul loops, and intricate internal rhymes. After early solo sparks and the impact of Souls of Mischief, they launched their independent label Hieroglyphics Imperium in 1997 to steer their output. Group albums 3rd Eye Vision, Full Circle and The Kitchen sketch that trajectory.
Live, the mic passes fast and fluid, weaving abstract imagery, pop-culture nods and Bay Area street detail under the unmistakable third-eye banner. The set draws across the catalog and highlights the interplay that defines the crew’s identity.
