Info
La Maison Tellier returns to the stage to unveil Timidité des Arbres, the eighth album by the Normandy quintet. On 24 September 2026 at the Élysée Montmartre in Paris, Helmut Tellier and his partners present new songs in which folk serves as the backbone, colored by Tex‑Mex hues reminiscent of Calexico, misty ballads in the manner of Shane MacGowan, and Sahelian dust evoking Ali Farka Touré. The album’s title suggests a deliberately restrained approach, a nod to 16 Horsepower, and songwriting that watches the world at the level of everyday life, with clear melodies and pared‑down arrangements.
On stage, the band maintains its organic balance, entirely performed with instruments: Helmut on vocals and guitar, Raoul on guitars, Léopold on brass, Elizabeth (known as Betty) on bass and double bass, and Jeff on drums. La Maison Tellier delivers a repertoire where stories mingle with soundscapes, between folk sidesteps, borderland inflections and more earthy pulses, continuing what the group has cultivated since its beginnings: making the music they love and sharing it without artifice.
