Hugues Aufray takes to the road again, bringing with him the French-style folk he has been shaping for more than sixty years. With his guitar slung over his shoulder, he unfolds a repertoire that has spanned generations, nourished by the American songs he loved and adapted. You’ll find Santiano, Céline, Adieu monsieur le professeur, Le petit âne gris, L’épervier and Stewball, along with nods to Dylan. Simple melodies, stories that hold their ground, and a way of making the language sound utterly natural.
On April 25, 2026 at Espace Mayenne Laval, people come to hear him tell of his journeys and to hum those refrains learned at school or by the fireside. The essence lies in the voice and the guitars, with tempos that let the words take the spotlight. It’s an opportunity to revisit a familiar strand of the collective memory and to follow, in the present, the path of a singer-songwriter who continues to move forward.
